How to play Blindshot
Blindshot is bocce on a world map with a hidden target. You know the city's name, but nobody sees where it is. Throw stones where you think it is, then the map reveals who really knew.
Play nowThe goal
Get your stones closer to the hidden city than anyone else's. A match has 3 ends (rounds). In every end each player throws 3 stones, one at a time, taking turns.
Throwing: Draw and Hit
Tap or click the map to set your mark, drag to fine-tune it (a magnifier shows the spot), then press Throw.
- Draw sends the stone to your mark and stops it there.
- Hit fires it through your mark at speed: the way to knock a rival's stone away. The orange arrow shows its line past the mark.
Stones collide. A stone that leaves the map is out. Stones slide much further over the ocean than over land, so a knocked stone can sail a long way. Execution noise (set before the match, 20 by default) makes every throw a little imperfect. On a phone, pinch to zoom and drag with one finger to pan.
Scoring
Once every stone is thrown, the target appears. The player with the closest stone scores one point for each of their stones that is nearer than every rival's closest stone. If the best stones are tied, or none are left on the map, the end is blank. A stone within 25 km of the city is a BULLSEYE.
The hammer
The hammer is the last stone of an end, the biggest advantage in bocce. In the first end the last player holds it; after that it goes to whoever has the lowest total (on a tie, to the tied player who threw earlier in the last end). Everyone else throws in turn before them.
Clues
- Named: the city's name. Casual targets show the country too.
- Silhouette: no name, only the country's outline at an unknown scale with a dot for the city.
- Fog: only the continent. Your stones glow hot or cold to show how close they are.
Maps and targets
Play on the World map or zoom in on Europe. Casual targets are capitals and big cities; Medium targets are smaller cities.
Game modes
- Daily Challenge: 5 cities a day, the same for everyone.
- vs Bot: Easy, Medium or Hard. The bot guesses like a person: its guesses drift toward the middle of the right country.
- Same screen: 2 or 3 players pass one phone or computer.
- Link duel: after your turn, send the link to a friend (or to a group of three). The link holds the whole match, so everyone plays at their own pace.
- Party: an online room for 2 or 3 players. Create a room and share its 4-character code or link; the host picks the map and clue and starts. If you drop out, reopen the link to take your seat back. If a player is offline for a minute, the others can skip their turn.
Daily Challenge
Five new cities every day at your local midnight: 2 well-known, 2 harder and 1 smaller city. World map, Named clue, Draw only, 3 stones per city, and your closest stone counts. Each city is worth up to 1,000 points, 1000 × e−km/400: about 690 at 150 km and 290 at 500 km, so a perfect day is 5,000. Play every day to keep your streak, and share your result as a row of squares: 🎯 under 25 km, 🟩 under 150, 🟨 under 500, 🟧 under 1,500, 🟥 further.
